Next Generation Chess

Free instruction, mentorship, and tournament play for young players. We teach the game and the habits it builds: patience, focus, and thinking ahead.

Our Mission

Every child deserves a seat at the board.

Next Generation Chess brings the game to young people who might never otherwise sit down to play. Our programs are free, our coaches are volunteers, and our sets and boards travel to schools, libraries, and community centers.

We believe chess is a quiet kind of training: learning to slow down, weigh options, lose gracefully, and come back stronger.

♙︎

Access

Free weekly lessons and loaner sets so cost is never the reason a child doesn't play.

♘︎

Mentorship

Patient coaches who teach strategy and sportsmanship, one game at a time.

♔︎

Competition
